Paugh, Jackie "Jack" Lane
Apr 16, 2018Jackie "Jack" Lane Paugh, 79, a resident of Fishersville, Va. entered into the eternal rest with his Savor surrounded by family and friends on Thursday evening, March 22, 2018, at Bright View Assisted Living at Baldwin Park. He passed due to complications from Alzheimer's. He was born on Friday, July 8, 1938, first son to Anna-Mae Swecker Channell of Huttonsville, W.Va. On November 7, 1959, in Mill Creek, W.Va. he married Ronalieen Yvonne Cool, who preceded him in death September 26, 2010. He joined the Army, June 1956, served at Wildwood Station Kenai, Alaska during which time Alaska became the 49th State, Ethiopia, Berlin Germany, Augsburg Germany, and other Army military bases within the continental United States. An avid victory garden gardener, 32nd degree, Past Master, of Masonic lodge, Holy Order of High Priest Hood of Royal Arch Mason, Knights of York Cross of Honor, Shriner, Fairly Odd Fellows, Life Member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 2424, Waynesboro, Va. Proudly and Professionally he served his country for 22 years in the United States Army and additional 20 years for the Department of Defenses Army Foreign Science and Technology Center, Foreign Material Acquisitions Branch and Division Chief (Master Junk Collector), Provided outstanding support to Operation Desert Shield/Storm and contributed significantly to the successful conclusion of the Gulf War, all while working at National Grounds Intelligence Center. Jackie was a dedicated husband, father, and grandfather caring and supporting his family as needed thru out his life. Left to cherish Jackie's memory are his three children, Robert Jeffery Paugh and wife, JoEllen, Orrville, Ohio, Rhonda Denise Branch Wilfong Paugh, Greenville, Va., and Randall Lane Paugh, Fishersville, Va., U.S. Navy Retired; two aunts, Peg Swecker Charlton of Aliance Ohio and Della Swecker Maschauer, Modesto, Calif.; two brothers, Samuel Harold Channell (Deceased) and wife, Diann of Midland Texas and Kevin Channell (Minister) and wife, Molly of Lexington, Va.; two sist...
